Training Exercise Notification | Evening of 29 September
We would like to make you aware that on the evening of Tuesday 29 September, Blenheim Palace will be undertaking a planned emergency response training exercise to test our procedures and preparedness should a real incident occur.
The exercise is being carried out in partnership with local agencies, emergency response services and Oxford Airport. As part of the training scenario, you may notice smoke and emergency response activity in areas of the Estate near Bladon.
Please be assured that this is a fully controlled exercise and there is no cause for concern. We kindly ask that members of the public do not contact the emergency services in relation to this activity.
Regular training exercises such as this are an important part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and local community. They also help us to protect the historic fabric of the Palace and the wider Estate in the event of an emergency.
We have worked closely with our Rural and Estates teams when planning this exercise and have taken appropriate measures to ensure there will be no impact on local wildlife, habitats or ecology.
